The AHT10, a new generation of temperature and humidity sensors, sets a new standard in size and intelligence: it is embedded in a dual-row flat leadless SMD package for reflow soldering with a 4 x 5mm bottom and a height of 1.6mm. The sensor outputs a calibrated digital signal in standard I 2C format. The AHT10 is equipped with a newly designed ASIC-specific chip, an improved MEMS semiconductor capacitive humidity sensing element and a standard on-chip temperature sensing element. Its performance has been greatly improved beyond the reliability level of previous generation sensors. The first generation of temperature and humidity sensors have been improved to make them more stable in harsh environments.

    Very good sensor, works properly. I use it connected to an ESP lolin device. Server mode and homeassistant integration also work. Fast and safe delivery. Due to its small size it can be installed anywhere. THX

      The 3-pin surface mounted device you see in the first picture, above the hole in the PCB, is a voltage regulator which allows the otherwise 3.3V device work fine with 5V VCC and bus lines. While the datasheet is not the worst engrish I've seen, it is pretty lacking. Undocumented features, fails to show something as simple as how the 5-byte temperature and humidity bits are arranged, says command 0xE1 is for initialization but doesn't say when to use it or how to set operating mode and what they are and so on. It's an annoyingly bad "datasheet" but luckily for me some other poor guy has wasted time figuring it out so I don't have to. Just frustrating when they're THAT lazy.

      Read the code from one of the existing libraries. It's just an I2C serial interface supporting standard- and fast-mode speeds. That protocol has been around since the 80s. The problem is the crap datasheet but just grab the missing information from some existing library.
